Author Interview "Susan Braxton"
What inspired you to write your book?
The inspiration for writing this book came from wanting to share marriage tips but in a unique way. This book actually evolved from a video that was created as a fun gift. I noticed how people (young/old/married/single) had the same reactions to the certain parts, causing laughter or amazement so I decided to capture it in a book.
What was the most challenging aspect of writing your book?
The most challenging aspect for me was just deciding which writing project to actually complete for publication. Once I made the decision it was full speed ahead until it was published. Like I said before, this writing project was a lot of fun to create and I would really love to see it go from book to screen.
Do you have any unique or quirky writing habits? I have a piece of jewelry I purchased while on a cruise in the Caribbean that I put on when I'm writing. Once it's on I'm in author/publishing mode and it's time for writing or publishing related work.
How did you come up with the title for your book?
For the title I wanted to incorporate the milestone of it being 25 years of marriage also to include that the couple in the story elopes on Easter.
Is there a message you want your readers to take away from your book? I hope people become inspired to stay open to love! Relationships, especially marriage takes effort and work but at the same time you can have so much fun!
Do you have any advice for the yet-to-be-published writers reading this?
Get your story out of your head and into written form! Connect with the resources to get published and don't give up until you accomplish it!
What's next for you? What are you working on now?
I've been doing a lot of historical research in genealogy for a writing project I'm really excited about. It will fall under romance – historical romance dealing with a marriage as well but probably in a different century. I want it to be a fun & educational yet entertaining story with more marital tips woven throughout.
What is your preferred method to have readers get in touch with or follow you (i.e., website, personal blog, Facebook page, etc.) and link(s)?
