Author Interview "Shantae’ Knox-Montgomery"

Please tell our readers a little about yourself.

I'm a married mother to three teenage boys. I work as a nurse and have had a love of reading and writing since I've been able to read and write. Love stories in particular are my favorite.

Could you tell us a bit about your book and why it is a must-read?

My book is Baby You're worthy is about a man and a woman that are very opposite of one another but end up falling in love. Nikki, who's been hurt before is reluctant to give Marcus, the reformed player a chance. It's a must read because it's not your average love story where the man messes up and the lady takes him back and also if the reader is familiar with my work they'll get updates on characters from previous books.

What inspired you to write your book?

Marcus was all the inspiration I needed for this book. I just felt his character had a story to tell and he didn't get enough shine in my book Loving You Feels So Right. He is definitely one of my favorite characters.

What was the most challenging aspect of writing your book?

The most challenging aspect of writing this book was writing too much. Believe it or not there was so much more to the story (nearly 10,000 words) before I edited and removed some things. Once I got that part straight it was smooth sailing.

Do you have any unique or quirky writing habits?

Unique or quirky writing habits? Umm yes! I have to have music and snacks are a must. My area also has to be extremely tidy.

How did you come up with the title for your book?

I came up with the title to the book when I was done writing it. I just thought back to my main character, Marcus, and how I felt Nikki made him feel at times...Unworthy. In the end she saw that he was very deserving and worthy of her love.

Is there a message you want your readers to take away from your book?

The message I want readers to take from this book is that women are sometimes the cause of a relationship failing. We have our faults and have to humble ourselves and seek forgiveness just like men do when they mess up.

Do you have any advice for the yet-to-be-published writers reading this?

My advice to yet-to-be published authors is to KEEP AT IT! Keep writing! Keep grinding! Keep pushing until something comes through for you. If I, who lacked confidence for years, can do this so can you. Believe in you and your talent!

What's next for you?

What's next for me? More books, more heat, different story lines, and EVENTUALLY...publishing my own books. Indie author is the goal!

What are you working on now?

Right now I'm working on a 2 part series. New crew, new drama, and new love!!! Part one is done and I'm about 1/3 done with part two! I'm really excited about this series!

What is your preferred method to have readers get in touch with or follow you (i.e., website, personal blog, Facebook page, etc.) and link(s)?

Readers can contact me on social media for now but I'm hoping to have a website up and running soon. Twitter, Instagram, and SnapChat: OneDimpleTae
