Author Interview "Apollo Butler"

Please tell our readers a little about yourself.

I’m a self-published writer going on now five years. This year I’ll be releasing three pieces of work, the comic included, which will bring my total number of published books up to four.

Unfortunately I live in the Bahamas and because of this there are a number of difficulties that prevent me from selling my work on Amazon. So I sell my books directly from my website, via paypal, as an electronic or audio book.

Could you tell us a bit about your comic book and why it is a must-read?

Well Blood of The Lordsman is really an action packed adventure that takes readers into the heated feud between Kannon and his big brother Vesa. The book is only about thirty pages but readers get to see first hand how desperate Vesa get’s as he unleashes an unexpected weapon to combat his younger brother. What inspired you to write your book?

Well besides a burning desire I kept on seeing this character, Kannon, taking part in these massive battles and etc. So one day last year, around this same time, I decided that I would bring Kannon to life, and create my own universe of action hero’s.

Another reason that inspired me is because I wanted to become an example to young people living in third world countries like I do. Here in the Bahamas young black men are shown hardly any alternative way to improving their lives other than working for the Bahamian government, selling drugs or migrating to a foreign country. See the Bahamas that I and many young people live in is not the “Bahamas” that you see on tv! Here the only way you make money, and I mean big money, is by being in the “click” with one of the big political parties. And the governments here in this country do not want to educate young Bahamians about ecommerce and the online opportunities that exist to them.

Kannon is my first comic book and action hero and to create this only cost me $745.00 USD. And I sell my comic direct from my website which enables me to collect 97.6% of my sale compared to the insulting 70% Amazing gives writers. By the way sales are moving I’m expecting the product to reach over 300 units by the end of the month. But by the example that I’m setting young people here in the Bahamas can generate their own income and do it completely independent of the Bahamian economy.

What was the most challenging aspect of writing your book?

The story line. This is a very short story line but I wanted this volume to really portray the hatred between Kannon and his brother Vesa. So we really didn’t focus on the history of the two characters because we wanted captivate the readers attention right away with a strong heated rivalry. Do you have any unique or quirky writing habits?

Ahhhh not really ☺ How did you come up with the title for your book?

As readers will learn in volume two the Lordsman is actually an unknown criminal organization that is own and by Kannon’s big brother. Kannon has not seen his big brother for almost a century. So as a way of proving his brother, Kannon focuses his attacks on members of Vesa’s operation. The Lordsman. Hence the title for this volume: Blood of the Lordsman.

Do you have any advice for the yet-to-be-published writers reading this?

Commit to following your dreams!

What's next for you? What are you working on now?

In another week I’ll be releasing my second novel titled Dune Raider. It’s an action packed sci-fi adventure and based on the number of people waiting to read it, on Goodreads, I’m expecting big things from it. Other than that I’m in the process of branding myself not only as a successful independent writer but also as a leader in helping independent authors earn more money by selling their books direct from their websites.

What is your preferred method to have readers get in touch with or follow you (i.e., website, personal blog, Facebook page, etc.) and link(s)?

The best way to get in contact with me is through facebook or my facebook page itself.

For centuries a war between two immortal brothers has raged on in the shadows of humanity.. Now with a rare appearance of a Blood Moon approaching, Vesa wants to summon and harvest the powers of the first God and plunge the entire universe back into the primordial chaos where life first started. Kanon, Vesa's little brother, has committed his life to stopping his elder brother, but unknown to Kanon. Vesa is about to unleash a new weapon so unexpected and powerful, it will surely take the war to a new level....
