Please tell our readers a little about yourself.

I am a native upstate New Yorker, who transplanted to Nashville, TN. Now when I get excited, I mix up my “you guys” with my “y’alls”! I started to rescue dogs a few years ago, and now it is my passion. I currently have two big dogs and four Chihuahuas.

Could you tell us a bit about your book and why it is a must-read?

The Supernatural Pet Sitter combines the familiarity of the ‘normal’ world, with magic around the edges. While it is a fast paced adventure, it isn’t too scary for younger children. The characters are fun and believable, and anyone who loves animals and magic will love this also.

What inspired you to write your book?

I know many ‘normal’ pet sitters, and several of them have talked about writing a book with all of their stories. It just seemed natural to add a magical layer to pet sitting, and the idea took off from there.

What was the most challenging aspect of writing your book?

Writing itself was easy. The editing and “feedback” was much harder. In the end though it was all worth it.

Do you have any unique or quirky writing habits?

I have to have at least one dog on my lap, or else I can’t focus. I’ve tried writing away from home, but without a dog I can’t do it!

How did you come up with the title for your book?

Actually I started with the title and went from there. The title came from all the stories my ‘normal’ pet sitters told, and I just knew they needed a little magic added to them.

Is there a message you want your readers to take away from your book?

All animals have a little magic in them, you just have to look for it.

Do you have any advice for the yet-to-be-published writers reading this?

You don’t need training or education, just write about what you love. Use all the free resources out there, whether it is an article on writing, or a blogger helping with reviews. And don’t give up!

What are you working on now?

The next installment of The Supernatural Pet Sitter. This will be #2 – The Curse of the Werewolves. Pepper can’t seem to stay out of trouble!

What is your preferred method to have readers get in touch with or follow you (i.e., website, personal blog, Facebook page, etc.) and link(s)?

I have an email link on my website - http://www.dianemoatauthor.com/
