Author Interview "Andreas Herteux"
Tell us a bit about yourself and your writing background.
My name is Andreas Herteux and I come from Germany.
So I'm happy that you can not read a German accent! I have published several books published in Germany, but "The Star Child and the Raven" is my first English release. I originally studied economics and law and started a career in finance and insurance. Therefore, I am not a full-time author and never wanted to be. Besides fictional books, I also write non-fictional books and articles about politics and business.
Can you give us a brief description on your latest book?
It is a book about love with a deep message behind the story which can be understood by adults and kids too. It’s much more than a children’s book.
What inspired your to write this book?
To find an answer to the question, what love is?
How did you come up with the title for your book?
In "The Star Child and the Raven", a star falls from the sky. From the star hatches the little girl Sara. She is foreign to the earth, but curious. The little girl meets the raven Albrecht, who spends his time on a tree and knows people only by watching and hearing. He heard that love is the most important thing for people. In the end, both go on the journey to find out what this funny thing called love is. This is the reason why the book is called "The Star Child and the Raven".
Did you work with other professionals—editors, cover designers, etc.—on your path to publication?
In addition to a professional publishing company, I worked with very talented and great people. On the one hand for the very successful illustrations, but also for the cover and the translation into other languages.
What authors do you like to read? What book or books have had a strong influence on you or your writing?
I have read so many books in my life that unfortunately I can not say any more, which could have influenced me in which way.
What’s one piece of advice you would like to share with any aspiring authors reading this interview?
I am not sure if I should give advice to talented people, but if they would ask I would say: Believe in yourself!!! Only your perception decides how the world will be.

A star falls from the sky on a beautiful night. A little girl emerges from it, a star child. Confused and curious, she wanders around. Soon the delicate creature from the stars meets Albrecht the raven, who gives her the name Sara, but otherwise he only knows one thing about two-leggers: They are searching for love. However, what that is the raven cannot say. Since the star child Sara has also never heard of love, they decide to search for it together, to find out what it is.
