Author Interview "Kelsey Bentley"
Kelsey Bentley grew up on reading and writing, but never believed she could ever accomplish this dream of becoming an author. She grew up in Liverpool, and lives there with her family and pet dog, Rocky – only he isn’t an Irish Wolfhound, but a Jack Russell Terrier.
Exclusive Interview
What inspired you to write your new novel?
I had always loved horror from an early age, but more importantly I had never believed I would ever become a writer so when I finally had a story I wanted to write my book was crafted.
When did your fascination with zombies begin?
At around four years old haha!
What was your hardest chapter to write in your book? Why?
The ending - it was sad for me because I felt my characters were leaving me.
What’s the most surprising thing you learned about yourself as a person while writing ‘A Journey Through The Zombie Apocalypse And I?
Hmm...I think personally I’ve learnt that I’m patient and very determined. Being a writer is a career that you’re often criticized for.
What was the first zombie apocalypse book that you ever read?
Pride And Prejudice And Zombies!
Just curious, do you think we should we be preparing for an apocalypse?
There are already government plans to protect everyone if a zombie apocalypse begins at anytime! Preparing for doomsday however unlikely it may seem may save your life one day!
Who is a creative person (not a writer) who has influenced you and your work?
I don’t really have celebrity influences me - except after reading the 13 reasons why novel it helped me figure out a few points in my own writing! Plus I do really love that show. I do really like music as well.
Do you have any advice for aspiring authors reading this interview?
Be yourself, create your stories and remember that eventually good things will come to those who wait!
