Exclusive Interview
Please tell our readers a little about yourself.
Outside of being an author I'm a Physical Therapist from Germany with more than 10 years experience.
Could you tell us a bit about your book and why it is a must-read?
'Baby Deep Sleep Manual’ helps parents to quickly improve the sleep of their baby via holistic methods. Not only the stress of the baby in regard to bad sleep gets discussed but also methods for parents to reduce stress are explained and the interconnection between these two. It is easy to apply.
What inspired you to write your book?
I was Chief Physiotherapist in a Holistic Rehabilitation Clinic and during a team meeting I saw my stressed out colleague in the morning and asked why she looks so pale and fatigued. She told me her baby boy could not sleep well and so she had almost no sleep. I told her I could easily teach her simple massage techniques based on ancient Chinese medicine. She loved the idea and that is essentially how it all evolved. Initially I was thinking to just briefly teach that specific topic but during the process of research / writing a lot of new knowledge came up which broadened my horizon a lot in regard to contributing factors for good baby sleep management.
Where is your favorite place to write? Do you have a special hangout or any writing rituals?
Secluded places conducive to deep absorption concentration awareness ( alone, doing almost nothing else but researching and writing, little or no noise and movement around me, not meeting people, at times instrumental music focussed on deep concentration ).
What’s the most surprising thing you learned about yourself while writing your book?
Earnest dedication to deep concentration ( avoiding common social contacts and avoiding non relevant talk and actions ) is essential for swiftly obtaining knowledge which gets memorized and speed of success in writing.
What do you find are the most rewarding aspects of being an author?
Great knowledge and having a positive impact on others.
On a more personal note: Tell us a little about your “real” (non-writing) life — family, job, hobbies, etc.
I like reading, sport and silent yoga in nature.
What advice would you give to aspiring authors who may be reading this interview?
Do not expect swift progress if you are not disciplined in reducing activities which are not favorable for deep concentration. Make a book a full time project if possible. But do not sit too much. Take care of sufficient amount of physical exercise to relax and energize yourself both physically and mentally.
What’s next for you? What are you working on now?
I am working on new books related to holistic health. And teaching skills related to my profession in person and via online courses.
What is your preferred method to have readers get in touch with or follow you (i.e., website, personal blog, Facebook page, etc.) and link(s)?
