Tell us a bit about your background.

I am a composer of classical orchestral music. I have done this my entire life and it’s exciting to apply it to a grand story. For my day job, I am in sales, and at home a father and husband. It is hard to make everything work together but at the end of the day you do what you’re passionate about.

Why and when did you decide to become a writer?

I was sitting down one day and was making a piece of music. There I thought how it can be applied to something more. I thought of my favorite scores in movies and decided that I had to become a writer, creating an epic saga. With that being said, having this story I was able to compose a soundtrack with it, marrying the two.

What was the impetus for writing "Arkonus?"

My main driving factor in writing this was my undying love for epic science fiction. I grew up on Star Wars and Star Trek, loving what creativity they brought to my childhood. From there I would constantly find myself creating my universes in my head and therefore put the pen to paper making it come to life.

You also composed a soundtrack for the novel, tell us a bit about your background in composing.  How do you feel it complements the novel?

I have been composing since I was very young, I do it in a more raw and unconventional way. I play with passion and make the music spontaneous without writing anything down, it’s all done by sound. I believe this compliments the novel because in any form can make a huge difference in the context of what it is. The music can bring an emotional form otherwise not thought of before when conveying the drive or passion of the characters in the story.

Who do you see as your primary readers?

I see anyone who wants to enjoy an epic novel series that enjoys science fiction or fantasy. Maybe you even like epic action films, and this book could be a fit for them as well.

Is there a message you hope readers take away after reading the book?

Yes, without giving its context away I would like the reader to understand, “inevitably” what time has an impact on and how those outcomes can or can’t be altered.

Do you have any upcoming projects you would like to tell us about?

I have the second and third book of the Arkonus set to be released soon and then after that, I am thinking of writing a dark fantasy novel.
