Jane, tell us a bit about your background and career.

I am a Luxury Goods Specialist, Personal Branding Expert, Motivational Speaker, and published author.

I worked in the television industry for ten years with Telemundo Network and NBC Network as a producer and entertainment news anchor covering live events, such as the Academy Awards Ceremony (Oscars) from the red carpet.

After years in the TV industry, I became the Director of Communications, Advertising, and Public Relations for Cartier Jewelers International, overseeing the Latin American markets. Several years later, I began her practice while training in Self-Empowerment and Living Your Potential.

Spending several years running the communications division of Cartier Jewelers International, I gained sales and marketing expertise while earning the respect of customers and colleagues.

Through my experience in the television industry, I gained hands-on experience. With my active sales license, I've sold properties to high-end clients, friends, and colleagues. My gift for multitasking has led me to new heights, managing a family of three young adults and establishing myself as a solid entrepreneur with my lifestyle brand.

My corporate and professional approach to each transaction distinguishes my work style. Her experience handling executive positions with major corporations has helped me secure groups of investors producing significant transactions in South Florida.

I also hold academic degrees in Leadership and have worked as an Assertiveness Advisor, Writer, and Public Speaker.

I am also married and a mom to three young adults. Two are incredible college student-athletes, and the third is working towards entering film school to become a filmmaker.

Tell us about your upcoming book, Stop Dragging, Start Living.

Whether curating luxury brands or guiding individuals toward inner success, I’ve learned that excellence begins within. Stop Dragging, Start Living was born from that realization.

In Stop Dragging, Start Living I share that through self-motivation, discipline, and self-awareness, readers can learn to harness what's truly inside them and become the architects of their own success.

After years of proven experience, I have found that true success and fulfillment stem from an inner drive that propels each person toward their dreams. I also discovered that the ability to achieve a goal is intricately connected to the person's current emotional state.

Everyone has been there, faltering in achieving goals and desires, which often happens when we lose touch with our feelings and the essence of life. We disconnect from our true selves and best versions when we lose sight of our purpose, motivation, strength, and happiness.

In Stop Dragging, Start Living, I empower readers to reconnect with their best selves, find motivation, and adopt a new perspective using innovative techniques and a fresh attitude toward life.

What is life if passions, dreams, and sparks do not fuel it? Each does its part in helping us achieve our goals and experience joy, only if we can remain connected and in sync with the crucial aspects of our lives.

What was your impetus for writing your book?

I want the audience to understand that we all must have a purpose in life. When we have a purpose, we realize that we have something to give to our time living.

A purpose does not necessarily have to be huge. It could be as simple as becoming the link between all neighbors on our street. A purpose can be as simple as learning to live happily with what we have, making our home a place of harmony, supporting our loved ones and friends, becoming a volunteer for something we are passionate about, or being a voice of strength to others.

When we have a purpose, we must develop goals to help us become that person. Goals should be written on a daily, weekly, monthly, and so forth basis. When we have a purpose and goals, we are doing our most important jobs as humans. We can also have amazing goals to achieve, and I would say that we must first analyze what these goals are and be realistic about attaining them. If we have the talent, drive, and perseverance to achieve them, why not pursue big dreams and write down how to turn those dreams into goals? When we achieve them, what is our purpose behind achieving the goals? That is a question that we must ask ourselves every single day.

What is the core transformation that readers will get from your book?

To take control of your story, map your own lifestyle, and create your own narrative.

Is life everything you thought it would be?

Is it the magical tour you imagined while playing with your favorite toys as a child? When we are children, we always dream about our ideal life. We interpret this dream through the games we play with our favorite toys. Usually, we dream of such exhilaration because we are full of enthusiasm, joy, illusion, fun, and great ideas, and we are ready to take it all.

Achievements never happen with blockages, doubts, negativity, worry, demotivation, reluctance, pessimism, bitterness, or stress.

Those are words that do not exist in childhood games. On the contrary, we feel like superheroes of our action plan, ready to conquer the world of our game.

What happens when we reach a mature age, look back, and realize we are on the opposite side of our childhood dreams? We must then recognize that we have lost what we once dreamed of, what we wanted, and what we believed we could achieve one day. At what point in our lives did the road divide, and we take the path that led us to where we are today? What happened to us and our decisions?

I look back and say that the past has led me along a path that has shaped me into who I am today. There are many ways to see what we have done over these years. Many times, I feel that we have lived several lifetimes within one.

In retrospect, it isn’t easy to recognize the person we were five, ten, or perhaps twenty years ago.

Who needs this message most urgently?

Regardless of our current stage, it is time to live in the present moment and become aware that we are a product of our thoughts. Our future relies on our decisions, and whatever stage we reach, for better or worse, is a result of our actions.

No one is responsible for what we have attained regarding our goals, achievements, successes, failures, tough times, or dissatisfactions. From this moment, it is up to us to recognize that we are in control of our lives and that nothing can take away that control. We must learn that what comes tomorrow is a result of what we do today and what we decide for ourselves. We are the sole pilots of our trip and supervise which direction our ship sails.

If someone is feeling stuck and dragging through life rather than living it, what is the first practical step you recommend?

Can you list in a notebook how many decisions led you to become the person you are today?

I often wonder whether I made these decisions because I wanted to or charged at them spontaneously. We then traveled those paths simply because we thought they fit us best at the time. This declaration emphasizes the importance of taking responsibility for managing your life.

Unquestionably, it is clear as day that we are running our lives, but none of us sit back and think about our immense power over ourselves. We are a product of all that we think and believe, our decisions, and the choices we make. Because of us, our lives are currently moving in the direction we want them to.

What tools or mindset shifts from your book are especially powerful?

What stands out most are the tools and mindset shifts that recur across chapters, reinforcing my clear message: Your thoughts create your reality, and self-belief fuels everything.

Here are the most powerful ones:

Living in the Present Moment

I emphasize over and over that true success begins in the now. The line “every decision to change your life starts from the present moment” serves as a pivotal point in the book. This mindset shift is crucial because it reframes success not as some distant summit but as a daily choice. It gives readers power immediately, not someday.

Thoughts as Seeds

I describe the conscious mind as the gardener and the subconscious as the garden.

This metaphor is powerful because it takes an abstract idea — mindset — and makes it practical: what you plant (thoughts, beliefs, intentions) will grow into habits, emotions, and results. It shifts responsibility back to the reader. Nothing is random; everything is cultivated.

Doubt as Both Enemy and Teacher

Living in doubt about your potential is like signing a lifetime contract with failure.

At the same time, I acknowledge that doubt can be philosophical, even constructive, when it sparks reflection. This dual view is nuanced — it teaches readers not to be paralyzed by doubt, but to learn from it and then act.

The Confidence–Action Loop

I debunk the myth that you must feel confident before acting. Instead, acts of trust come first; feelings of confidence come later. This is enormously liberating. Many people wait for confidence before launching a business, speaking up, or making a leap. My book flips that script — action breeds confidence.

Dreaming Big (and Practicing Visualization)

I emphasize visualization not as daydreaming but as active mental rehearsal that rewires the brain. I tie this to both science (imagination affecting neural patterns) and spirit (aligning with purpose).

Combined with the message “Dream big. Only passion will give you the internal motivation required to walk the path to success”, this is a bold call for readers to expand their possibilities.

Perseverance and Drive

I stress that perseverance is the quality that distinguishes those who achieve their goals from those who fail in the attempt.

The “DRIVE within you” as I frame it, is a constant throughout my chapters. I balance this with advice on adaptability: course-correct, embrace mistakes, and view setbacks as information, not failure.

The Power of Self-Acceptance

I link self-belief with happiness: believing in yourself will allow you to grow and develop into a better version of yourself. I also show how self-acceptance quiets fear and self-criticism, turning weaknesses into manageable traits instead of identity labels.

This mindset shift teaches readers that change isn’t about becoming someone else — it’s about owning who they already are.

Purpose as Compass

I define purpose as both the engine of meaning and the cure for drifting through life. This is reinforced with tools like journaling, meditation, gratitude, and goal-setting.

Readers are reminded: purpose isn’t discovered once and for all, it’s renewed daily.

What are you working on now, and what can we expect from you next?

Aside from sharing with others the benefits of this book, Stop Dragging Start Living, which I believe is a critical roadmap and guide to attaining life goals, I have already finished writing my second book and begun work on my third.

I also started writing a script that'll turn into a novel since our youngest son is a filmmaker currently studying in college, and I plan to share some of our creativity. In the future, I will continue to see myself as a mother, a fun partner to my husband, a great sister and daughter, and a devoted friend.

I love to dance, sing, and be silly. Although I am a professional and enjoy writing about essential aspects of life, I am also an artist, a bohemian, and a creative person. I see myself in the future, continuing to be the person that I am today, continuing to write books, continuing to support our sons, and hopefully producing a film with our youngest son, building a business with our middle son, and making something incredibly special with our oldest son as a professional athlete.

The future is always bright, and there’s always a new purpose in life and new goals to achieve.

No matter your age or stage, purpose isn’t lost — it’s waiting to be remembered.
